IVT Access is provided in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is a curb to curb, shared ride, lift equipped, advanced reservation public transit service. Consistent with the ADA, IVT Access is comparable and complimentary to IVT’s fixed route bus system, in terms of service characteristics (such as routes, schedules and service area (providing service within ¾ mile of a regular fixed bus route).
IVT Access operates the same route as IVT does, but within 3/4s of a mile of the IVT bus route. This is called the “corridor”. Pickup and drop-off locations for IVT Access must be within our service area or corridor.
IVT Access operates the same schedule as IVT does, within 30 minutes of the IVT bus schedule. This is called the “window”. For specific schedule and route information, please refer to the IVT Rider’s Guide on the IVT website here.
IVT Access is not a countywide dial-a-ride or taxi type of service.
Example: If the IVT bus route does not operate on the weekends, IVT Access would not be available to you on the weekends, just as a passenger on a fixed route bus would not be able to ride the fixed route bus if it did not operate on the weekend.
Example: If the IVT bus route travels at 3:00PM, then the IVT Access bus should be available, traveling in the same direction.
